Dear Colleague New Times in the NHS - training
Thanks to those who have responded. For those that haven't there is still time to book.
Unite is running a special 2 day accredited course, New Times In The NHS, for all, new and experienced, representatives in the NHS to help you organise, campaign and prioritise your work for Unite. We will run at least one 2-day session in your region this year. We therefore ask you to make your attendance a priority. If there is excessive demand, we will seek to run further courses. We will be providing all representatives with a new toolkit to help you at the workplace, and will be providing on-going support throughout the year, including further training, and support opportunities. We are in a challenging period in the NHS, but if we organise and work together, we will make a significant difference. We very much look forward to you getting further involved. In solidarity Rachael Maskell, Unite Head of Health Course Synopsis With the pace of change in the NHS accelerating rapidly the way health care will soon be provided is due to alter fundamentally. This two day accredited course will aim to track these changes and provide UNITE activists with new skills so that they can operate efficiently and effectively in this rapidly changing terrain. The course syllabus will cover: - The changing collective bargaining strategy of the state and the employers in an age of austerity.
- The NHS reforms and what they mean for UNITE and its members.
- How to develop a strategic approach and agenda in response to these changes.
- Developing innovative and considered organising responses.
With the NHS in the news day after day it is vitally important to equip all of our lay officials with new competences, so they can provide leadership in their professions and workplaces. We are running over 30 of these courses throughout the UK to achieve this end. Make sure that you attend. Please click into your region or group below for an application form.
NB members will only be accepted onto courses run in their local region. Please note applications should be received four weeks before course date.
