On-call agreements
The NHS employers have conducted a survey of local on call negotiations which was presented to the NHS staff council and this is attached. The survey indicates there is slow progress at local level in establishing new on-call agreements.The Unite health sector website includes a number of local agreements and workplace reps are asked to forward new local agreements to the health sector which can then be added to those currently on the website.
2012 Advancing Healthcare Awards
 For several years Unite has sponsored one the annual awards for allied health professionals and healthcare scientists. We are sponsoring an award for 2012 and the details for nominating to the awards -in which Unite members have been successful in previous years - are attached. Two Unite lay activists (one healthcare scientist and one allied health professional) are members of the judging panel.
Please circulate the attached form to colleagues and encourage them to nominate to these awards which demonstrate the excellent and innovative work which our members do in the health service.

The ‘privatisation of the NHS’ agenda has taken a giant leap forward with the news that private company, Circle is taking over Hinchingbrooke Hospital, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
